In August 2023, BT Institute had the honor of hosting Mr Barry Hoffner, the Founder of Caravan to Class, an esteemed international Non-Governmental Organization dedicated to fostering educational access to young women and the youth at large. 
This visit marked the genesis of a collaborative partnership between BT Institute and Caravan to Class united by a shared commitment to education and Human Capacity Development.

The outcome of this collaboration resulted in the establishment of the novel Scholarship Scheme referred to as The Bourse Jackie English Language Scholarship Program for Young Women from French Speaking Africa. This pioneering scholarship endeavor aims to provide an English Language Mastery alongside comprehensive Capacity-Building Skills in Leadership and Entrepreneurship, specifically tailored for young women hailing from Francophone Africa. Facilitated by BT Institute, this program annually identifies and awards full scholarships to five outstanding yet underprivileged young women from across 21 Francophone nations.

In November 2023, the application process commenced, drawing interest from 155 promising young women representing 10 Francophone countries. After a meticulous selection process, five exceptional candidates from Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea, and Niger were chosen as beneficiaries of this prestigious scholarship opportunity.

Since its inception, the Bourse Jackie scholarship has provided a transformative experience for its recipients, fostering significant advancements in leadership acumen and English language proficiency. As we journey alongside these remarkable young women, witnessing their growth and development, we eagerly anticipate sharing further insights into the profound impact of this scholarship initiative.
